User Substitute

The User Substitute field group enables an admin, your manager or one of your colleagues to act in the name of your user. This feature is specially advantageous in case of holidays or emergencies, when the tasks that are normally accomplished by a user must be fulfilled by someone else in place of the original user. In the Active Substitute field you can thus delegate the roles of your user either to a colleague, your manager or even an admin.

To select an active substitute for your user, just type the first letters of your intended substitute's name. Your substitute will only be activated after you click the Save button on your profile page. To deactivate your active substitute, click on the Deactivate button next to the text form with the name of the user or admin you have chosen to substitute you during the time you were away.

Once the user has selected and activated a substitute, a small red symbol will appear with the shape of a person preceding the name of the user that is temporarily being substituted.

Hover the mouse pointer over the symbol and a dark grey modal box will appear below with a brief mention of the real and user name of the person that is substituting you:

A similar change will happen with a substitute user. If you are substituting another user, in place of a red symbol, a yellow symbol with the shape of a person will appear before your user name:

Click on top of your name and a brief list of the name of the users you are currently substituting will appear above the link to your profile page:
